A Dream Destination for Fabric Enthusiasts
Oh my gosh, I had the most fabulous trip ever! If you love fabric, classes, lectures, and the joy of always learning something new, then you’ll want to hear all about my adventure. I had the pleasure of visiting Quitman, TX, where family time and crafting merged beautifully. The highlight of the trip? The Sewing Expo at Stitchin’ Heaven!

 High Energy and Inspiring People
The atmosphere at Stitchin’ Heaven was nothing short of high energy, and I even got to meet the legendary Rob Appell (aka the Sewing Man). This guy is hilarious and brimming with enthusiasm. He brought so much joy and positivity to the event—it was contagious!
 Learning Workshops and Eye-Opening Lectures
I participated in several workshops, but the standout for me was the Schmetz sewing machine needle lecture. It was a true eye-opener. I learned about selecting the right needles for various projects, and it completely changed how I approach sewing. Who knew something as simple as the right needle could make such a big difference?
The Joy of Fabric Shopping
Ah, the fabrics! Like most of us who craft, I didn’t "need" more fabric, but how could I resist when my favorite designers, Tula Pink and Tilda, were featured? Naturally, I couldn’t carry all my treasures home on the flight, so I mailed them back to myself—a crafter’s problem solved!
Exploring the Local Quilt Shops
After the expo, I discovered even more quilting magic. There was a shop hop happening in the area, and I had a blast visiting other quilt shops. Each one had its unique charm and treasures.
Buc-ee’s: A Delightful Surprise
Another unforgettable highlight was my visit to Buc-ee’s, the iconic store with the beaver mascot in the red hat. I’ve heard about this place on YouTube, and it did not disappoint. It’s everything people rave about and more. I left with plenty of Buc-ee’s merchandise—it truly brought out the child in me.
A Trip to Remember
This was such a fantastic experience that I’m already planning to make it an annual trip. From the inspiring people and workshops to the joy of discovering new fabric and exploring local shops, this trip was everything I dreamed of and more.
