On Friday, April 18, 2025, at exactly 12:00 PM, I officially closed one chapter. I sent my final work emails—one to the team I supported and another to my supervisor and budget team to confirm that my work equipment was heading back via UPS. With my badge and laptop secured in the box, I sealed it up, applied the label, and made my final drop-off at Staples.

At 12:54 PM, in my mind, I saw myself cutting the strings to a bunch of balloons, watching them float away into the sky. It was a vision—symbolic, freeing. Just like that, I embraced the moment: I am retired.
